THE LAST TIME YOU SAID A PRAYER

The last time you said a prayer,
The pain in your heart couldn't find the strength
To morph into a word
So all your quaking lips could mumble
Was _"dear father"_ and a Trinity of tear drops.
A wish fell off the tip of your tongue's cliff
Plummeting into God's ear.

This morning, his heart grew fonder
So he sent a dove to knock the door of your soul.
The bird was an answer
A sign
Sent to perch on the shoulders of your faith.

For his child calls him father
For his child shall not suffer
For his child shall not want

Good morning.

PERHAPS A POEM, PERHAPS A PILL

...

Perhaps a poem
Perhaps a pill

Will fall from the aisle of your palm
And plummet into

the well of your throat.

Perhaps a piece
Perhaps a part

Of you will approach death with a childish bravery
and hope the reaper fears

a man that did his work.

Maybe it's the end
Maybe it's the same

But you will learn these things for a price
So relax

Allow the poem
Allow the pill

Do it's work
and cure the life and reality

Away

Maybe to peace
Maybe to pain
